Spring Auction Highlights

Whisky Cask Auction

The gavel dropped on the Spring Auction last Thursday and the results are now in…

As predicted, the ‘big ticket’ casks hit the highest price points, with the 1997 Glen Grant reaching an impressive £17,000, the 2008 Orkney Island Single Malt selling for £24,000, and the 1998 Ben Nevis going for an incredible £32,000!

This time, contrary to previous auctions, the bidding wars started fairly on and continued to get more and more heated as the auction progressed. This resulted in an Auction Your Cask record-breaker, as the most casks sold in one auction to date!

The majority of the casks reached their reserves and beyond, with the highlights including the 2017 Witlaw which reached an astonishing £4,300, the 2017 Staoisha (Bunnahabhain) which sold for £6,250, the 2009 Glenrothes for £12,000 and the 2009 Glen Garioch for £9,750. As always, the remaining casks will be sold privately to buyers in the aftermath of the auction.

If you missed out this time never fear - we will be hosting the next one on Monday, July 11th and have already started to source casks to star in it; if you’ve got a cask to sell, or know a friend or family member who might, we want to know!

Don’t hesitate to get in touch or fill out the cask valuation form, and let’s talk whisky!
